Indian Creek School District #425

Indian Creek School District #425 has had an established multi-year goal of having 30% of its students exceed state learning standards while having no less than 90% of the students meeting or exceeding state standards.  In order to help the district work toward this goal, the faculty and administration of Indian Creek Elementary Schools will together focus on the following educational priorities throughout this school year.

Reading

·        Investigate and adopt a uniform K-5 reading series that would promote consistency in student learning and address the needs for high performing learners.

Writing

·        Articulate and refine a performance based writing portfolio showcasing each child’s writing samples utilizing a predetermined set of grade exit skills based on state standards.

Math

·        Administer curriculum-based assessments to monitor and strengthen sub-skills as determined by state standards.

·        Survey, examine, and refine existing math enrichment practices.

Technology

·        Teachers will contribute to a district technology curriculum map and its use for instruction at their grade level.

Pyramid of Interventions

·        Extend Pyramid of Interventions to encompass high performing learners and provide opportunities for them to achieve higher potentials.

Professional Development

·        Exploration of targeted professional development programs such as Strengths Quest, Building Teacher Strengths, and The Educator as Leader.

·        Investigation of teacher mentoring models and methods of application (90/30 committee)

·        Professional time and resources will be devoted to achieving school Improvement Goals.
