W.E.S. Tile Mosaic

bulletIn the fall of 2003, our elementary school will celebrate its 50th anniversary. In celebration, the students have created a bright, exciting tile mural for the front foyer. All students designed and glazed a tile of their own for the mural. This school-wide art project was created during art classes. The student designs utilized the basic art elements of line, shape, color, and texture. Faculty and staff also contributed to the project.

bulletThe goals for this project were:
  • Celebrate education at Waterman Elementary School.
  • Create an awareness of the past, present and future of W.E.S.
  • Instill students with ownership and pride for their school and their education.
  • Help students develop an appreciation for the individuality of others and the uniqueness of working on a collaborative project.
  • Encourage creative problem-solving and decision making.
