     Art Curriculum

	Promote self-expression by creating in a variety of medium and techniques.
	Develop fine motor skills and refine techniques and craftsmanship.
	Develop an understanding of the uniqueness of the visual arts throughout history and cultures.
	Exposure and appreciation of artists and their work.

	Art elements that will be utilized are line, shape, color, texture, value and space.  Students will be introduced to the art principles of unity, variety, balance and movement.
	These skills will be evaluated through daily art work, finished projects, occasional handouts and tests and the Fine Arts Festival.
