Exploring
Description:

This course
introduces students to touch typing technique. You will learn the
proper way to enter data into the computer. You will also learn about
the basic operations of the computer. You will learn about how input,
output, and storage devices work together. We will also cover the
role of computers in our society and some of the issues that have arisen
from technological innovations.

Description:

will introduce students to the basic functions of Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, and Publisher. This understanding will be accomplished
by cross-curricular projects using each of the software programs.

Keyboarding Exploratory

Keyboarding
Description:
To
provide instruction in using touch-keyboarding skills so that students
can transfer their keyboarding and information processing skills to other
areas of study, thereby making efficient use of computers in all subject
areas.
Keyboarding
Objectives:
- Develop
an awareness and understanding of the value and importance of touch keyboarding
- Develop
an awareness and understanding of the impact this skill may have on productivity
in school, personal, and future work environments
- Develop
the ability to apply touch keyboarding and formatting skills to written
communication while developing the vocabulary to communicate to peers, teachers,
and the community.
- Keyboard
the alphabetic and numeric keys by touch, using the designated finger of
the correct hand.
- Develop
touch keyboarding skills at acceptable speed and accuracy levels
- Develop
proofreading and editing skills
- Provide
students with the knowledge of word processing and formatting applications
and demonstration of how the computer, the keyboard, and integrated software
can be used as powerful tools in life-long learning.
