The middle school soccer team ended its season on a winning note by defeating Somonauk 3-1, in the third place game of the Jr. Ten Tournament. The soccer team finished with an overall record of 9-6-1. The Timberwolves fell one win shy of equaling the school record of 10 wins, set by the squads of 1998 and 2001.
Thirteen different players scored goals for the team this season. Tom Kallas led the team with 14 goals, followed by Matt Kyler with 13 goals, and Jacob McMurray with 7 goals. Noah Hansen had 3 goals, and Hannah Larson, Alex Bremner, and Bret Ostrom had 2 goals apiece. Also scoring were: Jeramie McSwain, Austin Clark, Dominic Lira, Taylor White, Aaron Bolton, and Tyler Reynolds.
The defense was anchored by goalie Tyler Foster, and fullbacks Jessica Shroka, Joanne Craig, and Cody Fabritz. Team members included: 8th graders Austin Clark, Joanne Craig, Leigh Cregier, Cody Fabritz, Tyler Foster, Tom Kallas, Matt Kyler, Hannah Larson, Dominic Lira, Gretchen Tyler, Steven Wessels, Michael Bantz, Alex Bremner, and Jacob McMurray; 7th graders: Kendyl Baker, Shaq Crayton, Kalia Foster, Jeramie McSwain, Jessica Shroka, Gabe Warden, Taylor White, Nina Yegoiants, Caleb Penton, and Bret Ostrom; and 6th graders: Aaron Bolton, Lindsay Craig, Stephen Dodd, Noah Hansen, Justin Swanson, and Tyler Reynolds.
