A little bit of information
about yourself (family, hobbies, interests):I am the fourth of five children
from Bloomington, IL. After working as
a pharmacy technician, I completed an Associates degree at Black Hawk College
in Moline, IL and finished my Bachelor's degree at Northern
Illinois University in De Kalb, IL. I have worked with various ages of student
learners from 2nd grade to working with at-risk middle and high school students.
I have also volunteered as a Big Brother and working with Hope Haven in
De Kalb.
When I am not at ICMS, I enjoy
watching movies, being outside, or socializing with friends at local coffee
houses or bookstores. You may
also see me reading at these places with a good cup of coffee. Traveling
is also a passion of mine. I like to travel overseas as well as visiting
cities in the U.S. It was exciting to visit the Tuscany region of Italy
and friends in Munich, Germany this past summer. My dalmatian, Mrs.
Cravitz, continues to keep me busy at home.
What do you enjoy about teaching:
As a life long learner, I enjoy learning from others in seminars, workshops,
or professional courses. In
teaching, every day is different. The exciting part of education is that
it's always changing. My goal is to create an environment that engages
students with humor and mutual respect for social development as well as
academic success.
