Music Boosters
What is Music Boosters?
If you have a student in band or choir, you are a part of Indian Creek Music Boosters. We plan and coordinate fundraising events and other sutdent activities to aid the music program at both the Middle School and High School. Since 1999 we have planned a campaign to raise funds to repair or replace school instruments, purchase computers for both buildings and purchase concert wear for the High School and Middle School.
Meetings are scheduled as needed and important information is sent home with students before most major events. Please check the district newsletter for updates and reminders. If you have any questions you may contact Mr. Feken at 815-824-2197 or at jfeken@kidsroe.org.
Grants can Provide Needed Money!
In the past, grants have provided substantial funding to the Music Department. Just this year, the High School was able to purchase a set of four new timpani using money from a grant from the DeKalb County Education Foundation, along with money from fundraising. Check with your employer to see if they offer educational grants/matching fund grants. We are continually looking for funding. If you have information concerning possible grants, please contact Mr. Feken.
Fundraising Events
Every fall, and occassionally in the spring, students at both the Middle School and High School will be sent home with fundraising catalogs. Money from these fundraisers goes towards purchasing new instruments, repairing current instruments, and purchasing new technology for the schools. Fundraisers in the past have helped purchase items such as a new baritone saxophone for the High School and a new set of chimes for both the High School and the Middle School.
CCC Auction Lunch and Concessions - We provide sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos, chips, desserts, and drinks starting at 11:30 am and go to the end of the auction or until we sell out! This year's auction will be Sunday, March 13th at ICMS.
