Overview: Accounting is a skill-level course that is of value to all students pursuing a strong background in business. The course contains information on keeping financial records, summarizing them for interpretation, and analyzing them to advise what should be done. Instruction includes: journalizing, posting, preparing worksheets, preparing financial statements, checkbook reconciliation, payroll, etc. Computer assignments will be integrated. We also try to set up a field trip to Waubonsee to see a guest speaker. The guest speaker is a forensic accountant and gives a great presentation on how you can use accounting to catch people who are stealing from companies.
