Overview: English 301 will focus on developing writing, reading, and comprehension skills. Students will write paragraphs and essays and study MLA format for the writing of a research paper. In addition, a comprehensive study of various genres of American Literature will be presented. Various writing projects such as the critical analysis, author project, and poetry paper will increase the student's understanding of the literature and further develop writing skills. Weekly vocabulary tests with quarterly book critiques will also be included.
