Each year, the Creative Writing Club hosts a Coffeehouse featuring work by Club members, an open-mic session, and a bake sale. The event takes place in the High School Library. This is a great opportunity to hear great poetry, short stories, acoustic music compositions, and stand-up comedy from current Creative Writing Club members as well as alumni of the Club. Last year's Coffeehouse, which took place on Friday, January 21, 2011, also featured poet Robbie Q. Telfer, author of Spiking the Sucker Punch, as well as a short-poem segment in which both Club and audience members shared spur-of-the-moment short poems. The Club would like to thank all of the students, staff, and community members who helped with/attended this year's Coffeehouse. The Club would also like to thank Mr. Robbie Q. Telfer for attending and performing his poetry.

This year's coffeehouse will be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the High School Library. We will be welcoming Russ Devereaux as the special guest. There will be coffee and lemonade, as well as snacks for a dollar and under.

This years coffeehouse was a complete success. There were many participants and Russ Deveraux was a delight. Great job creative writing club!
