The district is noted for having excellent educational programs and strives to maintain high standards.
There are nine active churches. A state recreation area with a 300 acre fishing lake and campgrounds is located within the district. A private golf course which accepts daily fee play is available. Both Kishwaukee Community College and Northern Illinois University are within twenty miles.
Adequate medical and dental facilities are located in Shabbona, DeKalb, Aurora, and Rockford, which also have major health facilities.
